August 14, 2026: Today, multi-platinum, Emmy Award-winning artist, podcaster and acclaimed songwriter Andy Grammer releases his uplifting and emotionally honest new single, “All I Want Is You.” The track is the latest offering from Grammer’s forthcoming sixth studio album, Big Stupid Heart, out October 16 via S-Curve Records/Hollywood Records.

A heartfelt declaration of love, “All I Want Is You” finds Grammer taking stock of the ambitions and distractions that can pull us away from what matters most. After chasing money, success and the promise of a dream that ultimately left him unfulfilled, he arrives at a simple realization: everything he has been looking for has been right in front of him all along.

“Take all the paper and light it on fire / I don’t need the money, it won’t get me higher,” Grammer sings before the song opens into its irresistible refrain: “All I want is you.”

On the new song Grammer said: “I wish I was better at remembering this, but I can get pretty caught up in chasing the next thing – the next goal, the next accomplishment, whatever I’ve decided is going to make me feel like I’ve finally arrived. ‘All I Want Is You’ is a reminder to myself in song form that my wife and daughters are my north star.”

At its heart, “All I Want Is You” poses the question that anchors the song: What if we have been wasting precious time chasing something that cannot compare to the love already in front of us? Romantic, sincere and unabashedly open-hearted, the track captures the central spirit of Big Stupid Heart and Grammer’s belief that choosing love is never something to be embarrassed by.

In a first look of the song with American Songwriter, Grammer noted the song and this new album have cello pop elements that he’s always wanted to explore: “I’ve been chasing the cello for my whole career. I’ve never actually captured it in a way that felt correct. This time, I was feeling very inspired with it. I just chased it on a bunch of songs on this record.”

The song follows the release of “Best Hearts” and album title track “Big Stupid Heart,” which introduced the deeply personal and emotionally expansive world of Grammer’s forthcoming album. Across its 13 tracks, Big Stupid Heart pairs sweeping pop arrangements, choral vocals and cello with intimate songwriting about grief, resilience, connection and the decision to remain open-hearted in a world that often rewards cynicism.

The album’s lead single, “Best Hearts,” was inspired by a listener voicemail submitted through Grammer’s podcast, Showing Up With Andy Grammer. A mother shared the story of her son, who found the strength to comfort another patient while receiving treatment for his own mental health struggles, and asked Grammer to write about people carrying tremendous pain who still find a way to show up for others.

The resulting song became a stirring tribute to those who have been shattered by life and still choose strength, compassion and openness. It also reflects Grammer’s own experience of losing his mother when he was 25 and the years it took him to find hope again.

“I wanted to make a record that feels like permission to care deeply again,” Grammer previously shared. “Big Stupid Heart celebrates the kind of people who refuse to let heartbreak make them cynical. Honestly, this is a daily battle for me. It’s my anti-cynicism battle cry.”

Following Grammer’s 2024 album Monster, which made space for anger, grief and emotional honesty in a bold new way, Big Stupid Heart represents an evolution rather than a return to form. The album finds Grammer choosing sweetness, sincerity and love not out of naïveté, but as an act of resilience.

Grammer is currently bringing Big Stupid Heart directly to audiences across the country on his summer headline tour, with a performance tonight at Harrah’s Council Bluffs’ Stir Cove in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The tour continues through August 30 before Grammer returns to the intimate, story-driven format of Greater Than Pt. II: A One Man Show beginning November 3.

July 10, 2026 — Today, multi-platinum, Emmy-award winning artist, podcaster and critically acclaimed songwriter Andy Grammer releases his brand new single “Best Hearts,” out now via S-Curve Records/Hollywood Records. The multi-track single also includes “Big Stupid Heart,” a companion track that further expands on the same emotional world with a fierce, bittersweet defiance of staying open-hearted in a complicated world.

From busking on the boardwalk in Santa Monica to belting songs in stadiums, Grammer has always kept his head up. But on “Best Hearts” the optimism that has long defined his music arrives with an even deeper emotional weight. The two new songs find Grammer making a case for staying open-hearted in a complicated world, not as an act of naïveté, but as one of resilience, survival and love.

“Optimism is a personality trait of mine,” says Grammer. “But as you get older and you get beaten down, it becomes a choice. Most of the greatest moments in my life have come from choosing sweetness, sincerity and love when it would be maybe easier not to.”

“Best Hearts” introduces a deeply moving new chapter for Grammer, one rooted in empathy, grief, connection and the kind of hope that can only come from knowing true sadness. The song was born through Grammer’s new podcast, Showing Up With Andy Grammer, where fans call in and share stories of people who exemplify showing up – for others, for themselves, for their communities. Grammer then writes a song in response dedicated to those nominated, creating his own act of “showing up” through music.

“Best Hearts” began with one of those stories. A mother left a voicemail for Grammer about her son, who was battling mental health struggles and receiving treatment when he chose to show up for his roommate, who was also struggling. Even in the middle of his own journey, he found the strength to comfort someone else. “Can you write a song about people who are getting crushed but still show up for others in that moment?” she asked Grammer.

That question became the emotional heartbeat of “Best Hearts,” a stirring tribute to the people who have been shattered by life and somehow still choose strength, resilience and openness. At its core is the lyric and thesis “the best hearts are broken,” a reminder that experience does not have to close us off from the world. Sometimes, it can deepen our capacity to love.

The song honors those who have “stood back up” and still choose to “stay open,” finding beauty in the idea that the people who know what it means for the world to go dark are often the ones most able to recognize and offer light.

The second track, “Big Stupid Heart,” expands on that same emotional world. Known for his life-affirming songwriting and uplifting pop lens, Grammer explores what it means to feel everything deeply while still choosing to believe in the good.

“There’s kind of a desperation at this moment to stay true to your heart,” Grammer says of the song. “This is a war cry to myself to stay open.”

One of the most anticipated album releases of Black Music Month is Swamp Dogg

Contemplates The Afterlife, which by the reckoning of the iconoclastic and much celebrated

artist, is his 31st (non-compilation) full-length in a career that stretches back a phenomenal eight

decades. The album, out from S-Curve Records digitally on Juneteenth (6/19), with CD and

vinyl to follow on July 10, includes “Final Approach,” produced by Swamp Dogg along with along

with S-Curve founder Steve Greenberg, Mike Mangini and Sam Hollander, Grammy winners

who’ve individually and collectively produced artists including Joss Stone, Tom Jones, the

O’Jays, Betty Wright & the Roots, Andy Grammer, Jonas Brothers, Hanson, Digable Planets

and Public Enemy.

Swamp Dogg is fresh from appearances earlier this month at the National Museum of African

American Music in Nashville, the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles and, most recently, a sold-

out performance at New York’s Mercury Lounge in conjunction with the Blue Note Festival. Now,

on the cusp of his 84th birthday, he commented on the song that is making its debut

simultaneously with the album noting, “‘Final Approach’ uses an airliner metaphor but it’s more

about a home coming than dealing with the end of life. That’s something that’s inevitable but the

life I’ve lived has been truly fulfilling and I remain both hopeful and thankful. I cite some of the

music pioneers – Sam Cooke, Otis Redding and Chuck Willis — who went before their time

while I’ve come as far as I have for as long as I have and that’s something spiritually uplifting.

The great work of those guys lives on, and so do I which is why I’m OK with this ‘final approach.’

I’ve been blessed and that’s something to sing about.”

The album includes three tracks that have been released in the lead up to Juneteenth: “Waka

Waka Waka,” which features a guest vocal by Gary U.S. Bonds (with whom Swamp Dogg

collaborated on numerous hit songs in the 1970s), “Searching For Heaven,” another track that is

specific to the album’s theme, and “Acid Tongue,” originally by Jenny Lewis, with whom Swamp

Dogg has recorded in recent years.

One of the few first-generation soul artists still recording and touring, Swamp Dogg’s music has

been embraced by successive generations who are taken with his musical mastery and

iconoclastic approach to both his craft and life writ large. Testimony to his ecumenism is found in

the fact that he’s been warmly embraced within the Americana world, and in his recent

headlining appearance aboard the SiriusXM Outlaw Country Cruise. He has also made waves

of late with the release of the critically lauded documentary film Swamp Dogg Gets His Pool

Painted, currently streaming.

Of special note is the album art, conceived by Grammy-winner David Gorman, depicting Swamp

Dogg surrounded by tomes dealing with mortality, examining a comic book in the style of a

Renaissance illuminated manuscript.

In connection with the release of Swamp Dogg Contemplates The Afterlife, and just off the heels

of his sold-out performance at the Mercury Lounge in Manhattan, tour dates have been

announced for this spring and summer, with club, concert and festival shows that include stops

in Upstate New York, New England, Southern California and elsewhere, with more to be
