July 10, 2026 — Today, multi-platinum, Emmy-award winning artist, podcaster and critically acclaimed songwriter Andy Grammer releases his brand new single “Best Hearts,” out now via S-Curve Records/Hollywood Records. The multi-track single also includes “Big Stupid Heart,” a companion track that further expands on the same emotional world with a fierce, bittersweet defiance of staying open-hearted in a complicated world.

Stream “Best Hearts” and “Big Stupid Heart” HERE

From busking on the boardwalk in Santa Monica to belting songs in stadiums, Grammer has always kept his head up. But on “Best Hearts” the optimism that has long defined his music arrives with an even deeper emotional weight. The two new songs find Grammer making a case for staying open-hearted in a complicated world, not as an act of naïveté, but as one of resilience, survival and love.

“Optimism is a personality trait of mine,” says Grammer. “But as you get older and you get beaten down, it becomes a choice. Most of the greatest moments in my life have come from choosing sweetness, sincerity and love when it would be maybe easier not to.”

“Best Hearts” introduces a deeply moving new chapter for Grammer, one rooted in empathy, grief, connection and the kind of hope that can only come from knowing true sadness. The song was born through Grammer’s new podcast, Showing Up With Andy Grammer, where fans call in and share stories of people who exemplify showing up – for others, for themselves, for their communities. Grammer then writes a song in response dedicated to those nominated, creating his own act of “showing up” through music.

“Best Hearts” began with one of those stories. A mother left a voicemail for Grammer about her son, who was battling mental health struggles and receiving treatment when he chose to show up for his roommate, who was also struggling. Even in the middle of his own journey, he found the strength to comfort someone else. “Can you write a song about people who are getting crushed but still show up for others in that moment?” she asked Grammer.

Watch Andy Grammer listen to the voicemail and write/play “Best Hearts” for the first time HERE

That question became the emotional heartbeat of “Best Hearts,” a stirring tribute to the people who have been shattered by life and somehow still choose strength, resilience and openness. At its core is the lyric and thesis “the best hearts are broken,” a reminder that experience does not have to close us off from the world. Sometimes, it can deepen our capacity to love.

The song honors those who have “stood back up” and still choose to “stay open,” finding beauty in the idea that the people who know what it means for the world to go dark are often the ones most able to recognize and offer light.

Watch the accompanying montage video: “The BEST HEARTS Are Broken” HERE

The second track, “Big Stupid Heart,” expands on that same emotional world. Known for his life-affirming songwriting and uplifting pop lens, Grammer explores what it means to feel everything deeply while still choosing to believe in the good.

“There’s kind of a desperation at this moment to stay true to your heart,” Grammer says of the song. “This is a war cry to myself to stay open.”

Together, “Best Hearts” and “Big Stupid Heart” offer a fierce, bittersweet defense of optimism. It is not toxic positivity, but rather a call to keep our hearts open amidst it all, even when true sadness finds its way in. The new music follows Grammer’s 2024 album Monster, which found him exploring anger, grief and emotional honesty in a bold new way, and has surpassed 600 million streams worldwide.

In the coming months, Grammer will have the chance to share that optimism with crowds across the country. His 24-date Big Stupid Hearts summer headline tour kicks off July 25th and continues through August, followed by the fall/winter return of his celebrated solo concert experience, Greater Than Pt. II: A One Man Show, beginning November 3rd in Nashua, NH. The intimate solo run is a sequel to his fan-favorite Greater Than: A One Man Show and finds Grammer returning to the stripped-down, story-driven format that has become a signature of his live career, blending his biggest hits with candid, communal storytelling and personal moments with audience members. See full tour dates below and info at www.AndyGrammer.com.

The past year has also marked a meaningful new chapter for Grammer as a storyteller and community-builder with the launch of his podcast Showing Up With Andy Grammer. Premiering in April 2026, the weekly series expands the heart-first ethos that has long defined his music into a funny, raw and deeply human space for long-form conversation, intimate musical offerings and stories of kindness, service, creativity, resilience and connection. Each episode features Grammer in conversation with guests who model what it means to “show up,” while also spotlighting listener-nominated everyday heroes through bespoke songs written and performed live on set. Recent guests have included Hospice Nurse Julie, Derek Hough, Justin Willman, Lewis Howes, Skylar Grey, Arthur C. Brooks, Rainn Wilson, Shawn Johnson East and Andrew East, further cementing the show as a natural extension of Grammer’s mission to bring people together through honesty, optimism and heart.

ABOUT ANDY GRAMMER

Emmy award winner and multi-platinum artist Andy Grammer has built a career on songs that turn optimism into something anthemic, honest and deeply human. After getting discovered on Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade in 2009, Grammer broke out in 2011 with his upbeat, sunshine-laced single “Keep Your Head Up.” From there, he has become one of pop music’s most beloved and enduring voices, earning 8 gold and platinum certifications, nearly 50 national television appearances and more than 4 billion career artist streams.

His catalog includes fan-favorite hits like “Honey, I’m Good,” “Fresh Eyes,” “Don’t Give Up On Me,” “I Am Yours” and “The Good Parts,” with songs that have soundtracked everything from family milestones to viral social moments across the globe. Known for his magnetic live show and signature blend of heartfelt songwriting, soaring hooks and communal, feel-good pop, Grammer has performed on major national platforms including Live with Kelly & Mark, Good Morning America, TODAY, The Tonight Show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, Dancing with the Stars, American Idol and more.

His 2024 album Monster, which found Grammer exploring anger, grief and emotional honesty in a bold new way, has surpassed 600 million streams worldwide. Across his career, Grammer has amassed a global fanbase and a massive social footprint, including more than 450,000 new followers across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube over the past year alone, and over 3 billion lifetime TikTok views.

Grammer’s passions not only lie in his music, but also in his philanthropic work. This is paramount to who he is as a person, and it is greatly reflected in his artistry. He was recently recognized by Claire’s Place Foundation for Cystic Fibrosis Support (‘Clarity Impact Award’) and by Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (‘Defender of Potential’ Award) for the incredible impact his work and generosity have made in the world. He is an advocate for mental health awareness and has spoken at high-profile events including Mental Health America’s 2022 Annual Conference as the keynote speaker as well as the Indianapolis Colts’ “Beyond the Sidelines” benefitting Kicking the Stigma. Additional organizations he’s worked with include Feeding America, The V Foundation, Carousel of Hope and many more.

One of the most anticipated album releases of Black Music Month is Swamp Dogg

Contemplates The Afterlife, which by the reckoning of the iconoclastic and much celebrated

artist, is his 31st (non-compilation) full-length in a career that stretches back a phenomenal eight

decades. The album, out from S-Curve Records digitally on Juneteenth (6/19), with CD and

vinyl to follow on July 10, includes “Final Approach,” produced by Swamp Dogg along with along

with S-Curve founder Steve Greenberg, Mike Mangini and Sam Hollander, Grammy winners

who’ve individually and collectively produced artists including Joss Stone, Tom Jones, the

O’Jays, Betty Wright & the Roots, Andy Grammer, Jonas Brothers, Hanson, Digable Planets

and Public Enemy.

Swamp Dogg is fresh from appearances earlier this month at the National Museum of African

American Music in Nashville, the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles and, most recently, a sold-

out performance at New York’s Mercury Lounge in conjunction with the Blue Note Festival. Now,

on the cusp of his 84th birthday, he commented on the song that is making its debut

simultaneously with the album noting, “‘Final Approach’ uses an airliner metaphor but it’s more

about a home coming than dealing with the end of life. That’s something that’s inevitable but the

life I’ve lived has been truly fulfilling and I remain both hopeful and thankful. I cite some of the

music pioneers – Sam Cooke, Otis Redding and Chuck Willis — who went before their time

while I’ve come as far as I have for as long as I have and that’s something spiritually uplifting.

The great work of those guys lives on, and so do I which is why I’m OK with this ‘final approach.’

I’ve been blessed and that’s something to sing about.”

The album includes three tracks that have been released in the lead up to Juneteenth: “Waka

Waka Waka,” which features a guest vocal by Gary U.S. Bonds (with whom Swamp Dogg

collaborated on numerous hit songs in the 1970s), “Searching For Heaven,” another track that is

specific to the album’s theme, and “Acid Tongue,” originally by Jenny Lewis, with whom Swamp

Dogg has recorded in recent years.

One of the few first-generation soul artists still recording and touring, Swamp Dogg’s music has

been embraced by successive generations who are taken with his musical mastery and

iconoclastic approach to both his craft and life writ large. Testimony to his ecumenism is found in

the fact that he’s been warmly embraced within the Americana world, and in his recent

headlining appearance aboard the SiriusXM Outlaw Country Cruise. He has also made waves

of late with the release of the critically lauded documentary film Swamp Dogg Gets His Pool

Painted, currently streaming.

In connection with the release of Swamp Dogg Contemplates The Afterlife, and just off the heels

“Waka Waka Waka,” out today, is the third album track to be made available in advance of the June 19 release of the Swamp Dogg Contemplates The Afterlife full length album on S-Curve Records. The Juneteenth release is just a few weeks in advance of the 84th birthday of the legendary soul/roots icon. The song finds Swamp Dogg, a/k/a Jerry Williams, Jr. coming full circle to an earlier part of his fabled career when he collaborated on multiple hits with R&B flame keeper Gary U.S. Bonds,

Ultimately, Bonds and Williams became a songwriting and production team whose partnership was most fruitful in the 1970s before a falling out that left them estranged from each other for five decades. Within the last year, Swamp Dogg Contemplates The Afterlife producer and S-Curve chief Steve Greenberg approached Swamp Dogg about inviting Bonds to contribute to the album. Swamp Dogg instantly blessed the effort, and the result is “Waka Waka Waka” with Bonds serving as a featured lead vocalist on the Swamp Dogg composition.

Near the end of “Waka Waka Waka,” Swamp Dogg interjects with his feelings for Bonds: “Hey Gary, Gary U.S. Bonds! Man, you the best friend I ever had and I’m so glad you decided to sing with me and help me get this hit. You know what hits feel like and I love you man.” Gary U.S. Bonds, on the eve of the single’s release commented, “It’s so nice to be working with my friend Swamp Dogg again. Keep on rockin’!”

Today’s release of ”Waka Waka Waka” was preceded last month by “Searching For Heaven,” a Swamp Dogg-penned song reflective of the album’s overarching theme, and its virtual flip side, “Acid Tongue,” written by Jenny Lewis, who had earlier joined forces with Swamp Dogg on his 2024 album, “Blackgrass: From West Virginia to 125th Street.”

Swamp Dogg Contemplates The Afterlife is thought to be the artist’s 27th full length and finds the artist participating in a broad range of promotional activities in support of the album, including tour dates and pre-release special events in New York, Nashville and Los Angeles. These include a discussion and performance event at the National Museum of African American Music in Nashville on June 6, followed a special “The Drop” event at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles on June 9. On June 17, Swamp Dogg will perform an album release show at New York’s Mercury Lounge as part of the Blue Note Jazz Festival. Additional summer dates are listed below.

The album was produced by Jerry “Swamp Dogg” Williams, Michael Mangini, Sam Hollander and the aforementioned Steve Greenberg, who collectively came to the Swamp Dogg project having worked with a range of artists including Joss Stone, Andy Grammer, Tom Jones, the O’Jays, Betty Wright, Jonas Brothers and Hanson. The album was recorded at Brooklyn’s Mission Sound studios with guitarist Sherod Barnes, bassist Jerry Barnes, drummer Steve Wolf, trumpet player Jesse Klirsfeld, organ/piano player Raymond Angry and saxophonist Morgan Price, as well as Moogstar, Swamp Dogg’s live-in keyboardist.

New York City-based duo Daisy the Great today share a buoyant yet quietly devastating single “Can I Have A Moment”, out today via S-Curve Records. Amassing a dedicated fanbase, over 198M+ streams, and press nods from publications like The FADER, Paste,FLOOD Magazine, Ones To Watch, Talkhouse, Brooklyn Vegan and more, the track follows the release of their 2025 LP The Rubber Teeth Talk, which was produced by Catherine Marks. The deceivingly jovial and upbeat new single “Can I Have A Moment” centers around a relatable pain behind the end of a relationship.

“‘Can I Have A Moment’ came out of a breakup, and it was really cathartic to let those feelings of desperation and rejection bubble inside a song that grew to be so spirited and wry and playful,” share Daisy the Great. “We recorded the song in our drummer Matti’s basement studio and it was such a creative and fun day. We were all layering a bunch of different parts on the track and it felt so intuitive and connected. ‘Can I Have A Moment’ is a cry into the ether of wanting to be loved and noticed by someone who once loved you back.”

Watch / Share “Can I Have A Moment” Video

Leaning further into their creative community of like-minded artists in New York City, “Can I Have A Moment” features a music video directed by best-friend-of-the-band and actor Jack Haven, best known for their roles in groundbreaking projects I Saw The TV Glow and Atypical. Where the song captures the messy and embarrassing act of throwing your heart into the ether for love, Haven’s video came together in a similarly frenzied yet emotionally tender context.

Mina Walker and Kelley Dugan elaborate on their collaboration with Haven: “The three of us went to acting school together and have been taking every opportunity to work with one another since. They’ve been in a few of our music videos, most famously as the star of ‘Dips’, puppeteering my (Dugan’s) favorite coat. Jack just finished their second no-budget feature and we love the way they think about film-making. Their style feels so fresh, gritty, and spontaneous. It really sets them apart in a world where a lot of things can feel overproduced.

The song is about being embarrassing and frantic for attention, and we were definitely feeling that while filming. Jack sent some references for costume, including Ellen Burstyn in Requiem For A Dream, Franka Potente in Run Lola Run, Liza Minnelli holding a rose, and a lot of people in bowler hats peeking around corners. We really embraced the theatricality of it all and let ourselves run wild and free around New York like we did together in college. It was so much fun and we’re very proud of the video.”

An inimitable record of edgy guitars, with spiraling synths and the duo’s immaculately stacked harmonies and uncanny melodies front and center, The Rubber Teeth Talk further cemented Daisy the Great as curious songwriters who can craft earworms from the smallest and largest moments of everyday life. Beyond the album, the band also recently released a cover of “Tom’s Diner” and an original track, “Blood Dye 40,” showcasing their signature “hocket” vocal technique – a style that has racked up over 210+ million views across social media and become a staple of their live show. Be sure to catch the band on their North American Spring tour with headlining dates and a run supporting Tash Sultana.
