Today Hailey Knox releases the Hardwired Mixtape, premiering at Parade Magazine. “With its feet firmly planted musically in the pop realm, Hardwired Mixtape is intimately ethereal,” writes Laura Whitmore. “It’s hard-edged and danceable, celebratory and sweet.”
On November 14th, Hailey performed songs from the mixtape to a receptive Public Arts audience. Throughout 11 tracks, Knox’s mixtape combines songs she’s been working on for years—putting her growing productions skills on full display. Hailey developed these tracks with the producers who discovered her—Mike Mangini and Peter Zizzo, along with songwriter Imani Coppola. But Hardwired is also a great showcase of Hailey’s own growing production skills.
Since the release of her debut EP A Little Awkward two years ago, Hailey Knox has been cutting her teeth on the road—touring with Charlie Puth, Ruth B., and AJR, and making her festival debut at Austin City Limits’ 2018 festival. Because of her live shows, Knox has grown into a powerhouse, building her songs onstage with a loop pedal.
Knox’s latest project is a reintroduction to an artist empowered by growth and the intimate moments and imperfections in her creative process. Hailey will be on tour in January and February of 2019. Listen to Hardwired Mixtape below or stream it here.
